Weed barrier installation is landscape fabric we lay down before mulch or planting to block weeds from taking root. We measure your beds, prep the soil, cut and fit the fabric tight, then secure it so it stays in place through Houston's wet summers and dry spells. It saves you hours of pulling weeds by hand.
Houston's humidity and heat make weeds grow fast, especially in spring and summer. We use commercial-grade landscape fabric that lets water through but keeps seeds from germinating underneath. Will the fabric still let water and nutrients through to my plants?
Yes. The fabric we use is permeable, so water soaks right through to the soil. Nutrients stay in the ground where your plants need them. The fabric just blocks light from reaching weed seeds.
How long does weed barrier last in Houston?
Good quality fabric lasts 5 to 8 years depending on sun exposure and how much traffic the bed gets. Houston's heat breaks it down faster than cooler climates, but it's still a solid long-term investment.
Can I install this myself or should I hire you?
You can do it yourself, but it's tedious work, especially in Houston humidity. We get the fabric tight with no wrinkles or gaps, and we handle the edging so everything looks professional and actually stays put.
